Gold Coast Tourism Corporation

End-to-end outdoor wayfinding for the Gold Coast region, built for the Commonwealth Games. Envent's first mobile wayfinding app, deployed across tablets, phones, and a Cavill Avenue outdoor kiosk.

Model/ Hardware:

Envent Outdoor Dual 55" Touchscreen Directory with Air Conditioning. Installed at Cavill Avenue, Surfers Paradise.

Gap Analysis:

The Gold Coast Tourism Corporation needed a real-time mapping solution ready for the Commonwealth Games. Hundreds of volunteers would need it on tablets to assist visiting crowds. The public needed it on their own phones. And a permanent outdoor kiosk at Cavill Avenue had to anchor the whole system at street level. One platform. Three form factors. Event-scale load.

Project Summary:

Envent built and deployed GANDA, a proprietary web-based multiplatform wayfinding solution tailored to the Gold Coast region. The same platform ran on outdoor kiosk, mobile phone, and tablet simultaneously, giving volunteers and visitors a consistent real-time map of local destinations across the entire region.

The outdoor unit at Cavill Avenue featured dual 55" touchscreens with integrated air conditioning for Queensland conditions. The mobile and tablet versions were configured for the Commonwealth Games volunteer network.

This was Envent's first mobile wayfinding application, and it ran at Commonwealth Games scale.
